The Biochemistry major focuses on the molecular and cellular levels of organization in living organisms, with an emphasis on molecular biology and biotechnological aspects. Students who graduate with this degree are highly qualified to enter graduate or medical school or work in a biotechnology area, employing the tool kit of molecular biology and biochemistry. The biochemistry major is for students wishing to focus on the detailed cellular and sub-cellular aspects of living systems which form the basis of many modern pharmaceutical interventions in human health.

Chemistry courses
CHE 111 and CHE 112 may be fulfilled with a score of 4 or 5 on the AP Chemistry exam.
