EDU 854 - Literacy, Language, and Culture(3) This course considers the cultural contexts of language and literacy learning through case study analysis. Students will examine real world cases through consideration of multiple theoretical frameworks and stakeholder perspectives, conduct an equity audit in their local setting, and work to bridge key tensions between literature on culturally and linguistically sustaining practice and the science of reading. The course will address implications for future research and practice in support of equitable literacy practice.
