THL 605 - Theology for Community Transformation(3) In this course, we presuppose that theology is the church in dialogue with God, loving and being lovingly transformed. This means that this class is about getting to know God better: getting to know how we as a community of faith have individually and collectively encountered God, how we, as distinct and contextual individuals, encounter God, and how we communicate this God of encounter with those around us. In this course, we will explore the major doctrines of Christian theology, such as Trinity, Creation, Christology, Salvation, Revelation, Ecclesiology, Anthropology, and Eschatology. Importantly, this class is not about debate or abstraction but about fundamental matters of faith and life: how we communicate the gospel, how we speak of God and embodiment, and how we collectively engage differences among us and outside of our Christian communities. This course will emphasize the importance of living out one’s faith in a way that is both authentic and transformative while also fostering dialogue and understanding across diverse theological perspectives.
