Examination of human memory and how information is perceived and processed. Studies most prominent features of human knowledge acquisition. Topics include short-term and permanent memories, retention and interference, and memory with and without awareness. Relevance of human memory to contemporary social issues (e.g., child sexual abuse and recovered memory/false memory controversy) also discussed.
