Advanced course emphasizing coordination chemistry of the transition metal elements. Topics include symmetry and group theory; vibrational spectroscopy; molecular orbital theory; structures, bonding, electronic spectra, reactions and mechanisms of coordination complexes; and structures and reactions of organometallic compounds.
