The data science minor equips students with foundational skills in programming, statistical modeling, and data wrangling. Project or internship experience integrates these techniques, and prepares students to apply them systematically in their primary field of study.

CPS 121 - Introduction to Programming (4)
CPS 330 - Machine Learning (4)
DSC 210 - Data Wrangling (4)
DSC 440 - Data Science Project (4) (or approved 4-credit internship)

Statistics Options

One of the following statistics courses:

ECB 211 - Statistics in Business and Economics (4)
MAT 220 - Biostatistics (4)
MAT 319 - Statistics (4)
PSY 256 - Research Methods I (4)

Elective

One of the following 4 credit options:

BIO 440 - Advanced Techniques in Ecology (2 or 4) and BIO 441 - Advanced Techniques in Ecology Lab (2)
CPS 352 - Database Systems (4)
ECB 313 - Econometrics (4)
PSY 257 - Research Methods II (4)
