Requirements
A major in Spanish consists of 48 credits excluding SPN 101 and SPN 102.
Foundational Skills (4-12 credits)
Spain (4 credits)
One or two of the following:
Latin America (4 credits)
One or two of the following:
Literature (4 credits)
One of the following:
Integration or Professional Option (4 credits)
One of the following:
Overseas Study (12-28 credits)
Majors are required to spend either one or two semesters at an approved program in Spain or Latin America. The junior year is recommended for study abroad.
Senior Capstone (4 credits)

The student selects additional 300 level courses and above from on campus and overseas to bring the total number of credits to a total of 48 for graduation. Other courses offered regularly on campus include:

Double Majors
Students who have declared a major in Spanish and wish to add a second major, or students who have declared another major and wish to add Spanish as a second major, must meet the following requirements:

Requirements
Students seeking licensure in French or Spanish at the 5-12 grade level must complete all language and education requirements, including a semester of study overseas. In addition, prior to their senior year students must pass Advanced Writing (FRE 313 or SPN 313 ) with a minimum B grade as well as the departmental Prepracticum Spoken Language Standard.
