Explores the history and biology of cancer through discussion of key historical milestones in scientific journal articles. Students will read and discuss key papers on a given milestone in our understanding of cancer as one of biology’s most challenging maladies. Other supplemental resources are used to provide insight into the human aspects of cancer. Offered Spring semester.

Prerequisite(s): BIO 105, BIO 106, BIO 107, BIO 108, or equivalent. Recommended: BIO 316
