SOC 333 - Sociology of GenderCredits: 4 Explores way femininity and masculinity have been informed by cultural practices throughout American history. Utilizes research from journalism, social science, women’s studies, and psychoanalysis to explore how certain behaviors and attitudes assumed to be naturally feminine or masculine are actually result of socialization. Grapples with implications of Christian faith for gender identity in contemporary American society.
Prerequisite(s): A 100-level sociology course.
