ART 325 - Stone Sculpture: CarvingCredits: 4 Introduces methods of carving stone “in the round” and in relief. Subtractive methods of carving employed while incorporating elements of sculptural form, including mass/space relationships, volume, surface planes, transitional forms and textural variety. Students use traditional and power tools with varieties of alabaster and limestone. Representational and nonrepresentational imagery from both Western and non-Western traditions encouraged. Lab fee.
Prerequisite(s): Major or permission of instructor.
