Special Education Minor (PreK-8)

Requirements
The student seeking licensure as a Teacher of Students with Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) must also earn a Bachelor’s degree in early childhood or elementary education and pass the MTELs in Communication and Literacy Skills, Foundations of Reading, and General Curriculum (multi-subject and math). The student is required to maintain a 2.70 cumulative GPA and earn a C or better in education classes. Students choose core humanities, social science and natural science options which meet licensure requirements as defined by the Department of Education. The student must apply for acceptance into the program during the sophomore year and must meet licensure requirements for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the time of program completion.✣ SEI endorsement course is required.
