CSD 376 - Science of Hearing2 credits This course builds upon its prerequisites within the speech-language pathology program. Prior to this course you have already learned the fundamentals of anatomy and physiology as well as phonetics and phonology. We will study the interplay between acoustics, physics of sound neuroscience, anatomy, and physiology of the hearing mechanism. The emphasis in the class will be on the principles of normal hearing, though hearing impairments and related communication disorders will be discussed. You will also study how these principles relate to the practice of speech-language pathology and audiology.
Prerequisite(s): CSD 214 and CSD 316
