DSC 210 - Introduction to Data Science

4 credits

Introduces the study of data science as a discipline and the tools and techniques it uses. Topics include data manipulation using Python, shell scripts, and SQL, analysis via descriptive statistics, and visualization with Python and R. Attention will be given to data sources and quality, maintainable object-oriented code, security and ethics. Weekly 90 minute laboratory. Lab fee.
