SWL 201 - Introduction to Social Work and Social Welfare4 credits Introduces social work and social welfare as helping professions; includes history, values, knowledge and skill bases; addresses people in their environment and interaction of spiritual, biological, psychological and social systems with them. Highlights social work and social welfare methods, settings, problem areas, client populations, social policy and institutions, and service delivery systems. Includes 20-hour contextual learning assignment approved by the professor.
