MAT 617 - Applied Mathematics and Modeling

3 credits
This course will introduce the student to a variety of applications of mathematics through a study of the following topics: Graph Theory & Isomorphisms, Scheduling, Bin Packing, Resolving Conflicts, Logic & Types of Proof, History & Philosophy of Mathematics, Tilings (tessellations), Symmetry and Patterns, Identification Numbers, Conic Sections, Growth and Form, Voting Systems & Arrow’s Impossibility Theorem, Fractals and Chaos, Game Theory.
