Introduces book of Psalms in terms of literary/poetic forms, dominant metaphors and theological motifs, and connection with Israel’s ritual and historic traditions. Covers canonical ordering of individual psalms within five books of Psalter. Grapples with issues of imprecatory psalms, Messianic psalms and righteous sufferer. Use of Psalms for personal and corporate spiritual formation and worship. Develops digital skills necessary to re-express depth of meaning of a psalm in digital medium. Visualization and audio dramatization of select psalms transforms them from page text to full multimedia potential of modern digital devices via techniques of digital storytelling. (Alternate years.
